Identify the asset before recording work
Asset labels, site descriptions and plans can be difficult to reconcile in the field. A QR code can open the controlled resolver for the tagged asset so the user can confirm its code, type, property and location.
QR access does not make private customer records public. The experience is mediated by the application and the available actions depend on the token and the user’s authorised access.
Move directly into the relevant workflow
From the field record, an authorised user can begin an inspection, record a service visit or report a defect with the asset context preserved. That connection reduces the risk of evidence or work history being filed against the wrong item.
- Open the correct asset context from a phone.
- Review recorded priorities and identifying information.
- Capture evidence against the resulting inspection, service or defect record.
No prescribed hardware vendor
Stormwater Passport supports QR-based asset access but does not require a particular tag manufacturer. Organisations remain responsible for choosing tags and installation methods appropriate to the asset and operating environment.
NFC may be part of a physical identification approach, but this website does not imply that NFC hardware is supplied with the subscription.
Mobile web now, dedicated app in development
The current product works through a mobile web browser. A dedicated Stormwater Passport mobile app is in development, without a stated release date or promise of offline capability.
